Responsible for the strategic development and oversight of Sheetz Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Property/Casualty insurance programs. Provide expert guidance to Claims Managers, cultivating relationships with insurance providers, chairing the internal Captive Insurance Company (CSIG), and ensuring effective communication and training initiatives, aimed at reducing organizational risk.
1. Direct the evolution and enhancement of Workers’ Compensation and General Liability programs by partnering with department management to ensure claims management practices meet service standards and align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
2. Provide leadership and strategic direction to Claims Managers, ensuring optimal claims handling practices in alignment with corporate objectives.
3. Work closely with Claims and Litigation Department Managers to identify, analyze, and address operational issues and emerging trends. Manage and report on these trends to relevant stakeholders.
4. Identify opportunities for program improvements and collaborate with HR to design and implement training programs that enhance safety and minimize claims.
5. Facilitate effective communication between the Claims and Litigation Department and internal entities, including stores, Corporate Departments, SDS, SBK, and CLI. Develop and execute training programs to promote a safer workplace environment.
6. Build and sustain robust relationships with key stakeholders involved in Workers’ Compensation and General Liability, including Store Design, Safety teams, construction professionals, engineers, physicians, and legal representatives.
7. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with brokers and insurance contacts to ensure effective program management; Oversee relationships with Workers’ Compensation panel providers to ensure superior service and outcomes.
8. Deliver regular comprehensive reporting on Workers’ Compensation and General Liability programs to the supervising attorney.
9. Provide strategic management of our Captive Insurance Company (CSIG) to effectively leverage risk transfer mechanisms where financially viable.
10. Direct the management of property/casualty insurance programs, including policy renewals, vendor selection, and claims performance oversight.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field required.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in insurance placement, Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and claims management, with proven expertise in handling complex insurance programs and claims processes required.
• Previous leadership and team management experience required.
Licenses/Certifications
• Professional certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) are preferred.
