Provide senior-level leadership in executing the mission of the Sheetz Accounting Department in safeguarding company assets, ensuring adequate financial resources, model a culture of sustainable cost leadership, and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting. This position combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership. Successful execution of the mission shall be exhibited through serving as a strategic partner to the business, staffing the department with the appropriate personnel, and always exhibiting professional conduct.
1. Maximize the development of internal talent through regular performance coaching, performance reviews and presenting developmental opportunities.
2. Responsible for identifying opportunities for cost optimization, mitigating financial risks, and strengthening financial controls to ensure compliance and sustainability of the company’s long-term financial health.
3. Motivates and leads teams, fostering accountability and efficiency, while coaching employees on best practices, compliance, and technology use.
4. Works cross-functionally with various departments and key business partners to provide financial support, guidance, and insights that drive informed decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and ensure financial best practices are integrated into business operations.
5. Responsible for the establishment and administration of, in collaboration with other members of senior leadership, the overall culture, strategic direction, and day-to-day operation of the accounting department.
6. Ensure that the primary line of service to the business that the senior leadership position is responsible for consistently exceeds expectations.
7. Collaborate with other members of department senior leadership in preparing the annual department budget and being accountable to any variances from expectations.
8. Collaborate with other members of department senior leadership in developing an acceptable talent acquisition strategy to ensure the department is staffed with appropriate personnel well into the foreseeable future.
9. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
10. Motivates and supports teams in continuously improving workflows, implementing automation, and reducing inefficiencies.

The education, experience and license/certification requirements represent the MINIMUM requirements necessary to perform the functions of this position successfully.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university required.
• Master’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, and/or Taxation from an accredited college or university preferred
Experience
• Minimum 7 years in related field of accounting, finance, audit, or taxation required; preference of experience focused on fixed assets and taxation.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in related field of accounting, finance, audit, or taxation required
Licenses/Certifications
• Active Certified Public Accountant license in good standing preferred, but not required
• Other accreditation (e.g., CMA, CFP, CIA, CGMA, etc.) in Accounting and/or Finance achieved through successful completion of a standardized examination and maintained through an established continuous education program preferred, but not required
