Responsible for the supervision of accounting professionals in an assigned area of the department. Leads most day-to-day operations of the team. Responsible for reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely recording of activity. Assist with the completion of special projects for the strategic benefit of the department and/or company.
1. Maximize the development of internal talent through regular performance coaching, performance reviews, and presenting development opportunities.
2. Assist Manager with annual budgets for assigned area of responsibility to maximize profitability.
3. Working with the Accounting Manager, align the section’s duties with the strategic goals of the Sheetz Accounting department and of Sheetz, Inc.
4. Oversee the development of policies and procedures for the assigned Accounting Area.
5. Manage the workflow of staff members to ensure deadlines are met. Assign duties to staff members to achieve balanced workloads matched appropriately with skill levels and abilities.
6. Reconcile and analyze various General Ledger accounts.
7. Establish and maintain strong business relationships highlighted b excellent communications with both internal and external business partners.
8. Participate in the Financial Partnering initiative. Assist the Sheetz management staff of other Sheetz departments with the review of their department’s Financial Statements, researching and resolving questions questions/concerns. Assist financial partners with their department’s annual budget.

Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business required
Experience
• Minimum 5 years public or corporate accounting experience required
• Supervisory experience preferred
