Print Services Prepress Designer

Produce optimized files for print production by preparing artwork and cut files that meet equipment requirements/tolerances. As needed provide communication documents to support manufactured products.

1. Review, preflight and correct requester-supplied artwork files for print production to deliver on approved project scope, item specifications, and production methods
2. Produce layout designs for variable data printing leveraging existing artwork style guides
3. Support new product development process through recommendations for materials, machines and order of operations
4. Produce print and cut production files to accurately align to equipment capabilities, constraints and order of operations as determined by the production plan.
5. Design communication documents to help support production and implementation of products (placement guides, instruction sheets, carton labels, production aids, etc)
6. Present and obtain approvals for all artwork files
7. Manage and organize all created assets via standard procedures
8. Manage and maintain standard product production templates for Brand Design team.
9. Produce and test prototype products as necessary
10. Monitor and communicate artwork status and deliver various quality, performance, and efficiency metrics.
11. Adhere to all pre-production processes and procedures.
12. Support implementation of continuous improvement efforts and cost control procedures.

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Technical / Trade Training / Sheetz Training required.
• Associates degree in Graphic Arts or other closely related field is preferred.

Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in graphic design and working knowledge of print production, prepress processes or other job shop manufacturing required.
